Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard continues his evolution as a rapper with the release of his first official music video for his song “Bigger Than Us,” featuring Paul Rey.

The video, which itself tries to tackle societal and racial problems over the past few years, debuted as part of TNT”s coverage of Monday evening’s games on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The song was originally released on Christmas Day in a JBL audio commercial during the first Warriors-Cavs game. You can listen to all of Lillard’s other previously released songs on his SoundCloud page.

The video was very well done. However, if you’re looking for a little bit more backstory on Lillard’s rap career and the experiences he’s had in dealing with the police and being racially profiled, I highly suggest his interview on the USA Today A to Z podcast which went up today.
