Portland Trail Blazers guard Wesley Matthews (irregular heartbeat) did a little bit more in practice on Saturday afternoon after returning to practice on Friday.

Blazers coach Terry Stotts said that Matthews did “almost everything,” in the Blazers Saturday session. Matthews says the Blazers medical staff wanted him to build up in controlled sessions before bringing him back full boar.

“They just didn’t want me to do full on scrimmages and stuff like that,” said Matthews “They wanted to make sure I was still able to catch breaks because they know I’m not going to sub myself out of the game. In the controlled settings when we would go, stop, next group on I was able to do stuff like that.”

Matthews said he didn’t feel any lingering effects from the scare in Saturday’s practice.

“Nothing, everything’s fine. Hopefully I get the go-ahead to at least participate in some of fan fest tomorrow.”

The Blazers fan fest is scheduled for tomorrow evening at the Moda Center.

Blazers head coach Terry Stotts said that the teams will be split evenly and also said that the Blazers starting line-up from last season would not play together in tomorrow’s game.
