The new Moda Center logo unveiled by the Trail Blazers

The new Moda Center logo unveiled by the Trail Blazers on October 3rd.

The Trail Blazers unveiled the logo for the Moda Center, featuring a “plum-colored” rose along side the wordmark. The Rose Garden became the former name of the arena on an official announcement by Trail Blazers president Chris McGowan on August 13th.

“Our challenge was to design a new logo and identity that was true to the history and spirit of the arena, authentic to the Moda Center brand and meaningful to the Portland community at large,” said Mehdi Tabrizi, Managing Director of Ziba, the Portland-based firm that designed the logo, in a press release sent out by the Trail Blazers.

The name change has been met with mixed reviews, with many refusing to let go of the old name. The new logo is just another step towards the rebranding of the arena which included adding local Portland food carts to concessions and the end of the 13-year free chalupa giveaway with Taco Bell.
