Media outlet: Blazers to sign Sean Marks

A report on cbssports.com said that the Blazers will sign free agent center Sean Marks to replace Fabricio Oberto, who retired Thursday.

Marks was was one of five players invited to a Friday workout at the team’s practice facility. His competition? Arizona State graduate Eric Boateng, who worked out with Denver during training camp, four-year veteran Earl Barron, who averaged 11.7 points in seven games with the Knicks last season, five-year veteran and former Sun Dwayne Jones, and former Blazer Shavlik Randolph.

Marks, listed at 6-foot-10 250 pounds, has played 10 NBA seasons, suiting up for the Raptors, Heat, Spurs, Suns and most recently the Hornets, with whom he averaged 0.7 points in 14 games last season.
