Brandon Roy ventures back to alma mater

Brandon Roy’s heading back to Seattle, and the Blazers are going with him. The Blazers announced Thursday that the team will hold an intra-squad scrimmage October 14. at Garfield High — Roy’s alma mater.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and tip-off is at 7.

Tickets are priced at $5 and will go on sale Monday morning at the Garfield High activities center. Proceeds from the game will be donated to the Garfiled School Foundation. Roy and the Blazers will add $10,000 to the foundation.

“My teammates and I want to thank the Garfield community for inviting us to Seattle,” Roy said in a press release. “Garfield High School holds a very special place in my heart.”
