Fernandez will be game-time decision against Mavericks

Portland Trail Blazers guard Rudy Fernandez will be a game-time decision for tonight’s contest against the Dallas Mavericks at the Rose Garden.

Fernandez (left quadriceps strain) appeared more active during a morning shootaround at the team’s practice facility in Tualatin, Ore., and Blazers coach Nate McMillan said Fernandez participated in shooting drills.

McMillan said there is a chance Fernandez will play tonight. However, Fernandez is still experiencing pain due to the injury.

“We’re hoping he can go,” McMillan said.

The second-year guard missed last Sunday’s loss to Phoenix due to the injury, and has sat out 20 games this season with back and leg pain.
