Trail Blazers shift their routine to appeal to older crowd; still recognize outstanding readers

WHO: Jerryd Bayless, Martell Webster, Blaze the Trail Cat

WHAT: The Portland Trail Blazers and Toyota are hosting a series of Read to Achieve assemblies throughout March to help celebrate Reading Month.

Tomorrow’s assembly will differ from previous Read to Achieve assemblies, as the students are in 7th and 8th grade. Other assemblies throughout the month have included elementary school students.

The Trail Blazers will stage three contests similar to those seen in-game between fans at the Rose Garden. The contingent will recite the Read to Achieve pledge, award prizes and donate new books to each school’s library.
