Roy out for next two games
Portland Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy will miss the next two games, the team said Thursday.
Roy left the Blazers in Philadelphia to travel to Seattle, where he will receive a second opinion from doctors about his strained right hamstring.
After sitting out two consecutive games due to the injury, Roy pulled his hamstring again during the second quarter of the Blazers’ 98-90 road victory over the 76ers on Wednesday. He did not play in the second half.
Roy leads the Blazers in average points (23.1) and assists (5.0) this season. The two-time All-Star has started 40 games while missing three due to injury.
Portland (26-17) concludes a four-game road trip with contests against Boston on Friday and Detroit on Saturday. The first game Roy could likely play in would be a home game next Monday against New Orleans, which is also expected to mark the return of forward Nicolas Batum, who has not played this season due to a shoulder injury.
