Statewide aggregate girls basketball rankings (Jan. 4)

With all the talk around RPI and state basketball rankings, I decided to take a look at what rankings would look like if you put them all together.

So what I’ve done is take seven different state rankings: RPI, Tacoma News Tribune, Seattle Times, MaxPreps (which is different from RPI), Score Czar, Evans Rankings and The Columbian (which is the ballot I cast for the AP state poll) and put them together into an aggregate ranking, based off a 10-9-8-etc voting system.

I wanted to add the Associated Press rankings, but not enough of my colleagues around the state could be troubled into voting this week. Hopefully, we’ll add them next week.

Here’s what they looked like for girls rankings in Class 4A through 1A. Only six votes were cast in 2A and 1A as the Seattle Times does not rank thems in those classes.
