Kalama’s 20-14 win over Woodland on Friday was twice as sweet for the Chinooks.

It marked the first time in four years Kalama had won the Eight Mile War. In the past two meetings, Woodland had outscored the Chinooks 90-0.

And it marked the debut of first-year coach Sean McDonald.

“I can’t even explain how this feels,” McDonald told the Longview Daily News.

Kalama quarterback Isaac Truesdell completed 13 of 17 passes for 169 yards and three touchdowns.
