Players to watch: For Hockinson, it’s not one guy. Just watch the defense. La Center RB Cole Judd was the Trico League offensive MVP.

Game notes: The Hawks return almost their entire starting defense from last season that allowed just 27 points in six league games. La Center does not shy away from tough non-league opponents. They open against three 2A playoffs teams: Hockinson, Tumwater and Woodland. The Wildcats return eight starters on offense and seven on defense.
