Residential Landscape Design Workshop

The Urban Forestry Department at the City of Vancouver is offering a free workshop on residential landscape design from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, May 19 at the Firstenburg Community Center.

Professional Landscape Architects from Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation will provide instruction on developing a home landscape plan. Participants are encouraged to bring a sketch and photos of their current landscape.

“Residential Landscape Design focuses on ways to organize outdoor spaces while considering elements such as micro-climates, soils and the right plant for the right place. The workshop will also explore framing views to convert underused outdoor spaces into attractive and healthy landscapes for relaxation, contemplation, entertaining, nature play or other purposes. Participants will learn fundamental principles of designing healthy outdoor spaces while becoming creative problem solvers.”

To ensure your place at this Workshop, register in advance by calling (360) 487-8308 or emailing urbanforestry@cityofvancouver.us. Space is limited to 20 participants. For more information visit www.cityofvancouver.us/urbanforestry
