Last meeting: Mountain View 35-7 in Week 1 of 2010.

Evergreen: The Plainsmen are looking to snap a three-game skid against rival Mountain View. … Evergreen returns only one full-time starter from last year’s team that went 1-8. That’s junior quarterback Anthony Thomas. … With fresh faces comes a fresh attitude, coach Charles Anthony said, and it starts with Thomas.

Mountain View: The Thunder are looking to build off a strong season in which the Thunder went 7-3 and 5-1 in the 3A GSHL. … The Thunder finished strong, by winning final four regular-season games and holding foes in those four games to 13 total points. … Mountain View lost to Timberline 29-28 in the 3A state preliminary game. … The Thunder have good size, led by TE/DL Ryan Johnson (6-3, 235) and OL/DL Josh Stolz (6-1, 250). … And that’s good news for QB Riley O’Dell and RB Sterling Reynolds.

Columbian’s pick: Mountain View.

Fans’ pick: Mountain View.
