Mielke opens mouth, blog post falls out
Hey, thanks Commissioner Mielke! Employee evaluations are exempt from public disclosure – but by mentioning Don Benton’s evaluation during a public meeting, the exemption was waived. This makes for an easy blog post. I really appreciate it.
Francine Reis, director of the county’s human resources department, emailed a copy of Benton’s interim performance appraisal by former Administrator Bill Barron to me this afternoon, in response to a public disclosure request. There’s not much to it, as Barron wrote that “four months does not afford an appropriate time frame in which to judge a person’s performance.”
