LaMarcus Aldridge named Western Conference Player Of The Week

The NBA announced this morning that Trail Blazers power-forward LaMarcus Aldridge was named Western Conference Player of the Week.

The Blazers went 4-0 during the week and Aldridge capped off the week with his best game of the season with 30 points, 21 rebounds, three blocks, three steals and three assists in a comeback win against the Golden State Warriors.

John Wall of the Washington Wizards won the honors for the Eastern Conference.

NEW YORK, Nov. 25, 2013 – The Washington Wizards’ John Wall and the Portland Trail Blazers’ LaMarcus Aldridge today were named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Nov. 18, through Sunday, Nov. 24.

Wall led the Wizards to a 3-1 week with averages of 24.3 points (fourth in the conference), 8.5 assists (third in the conference) and 2.75 steals (fifth in the conference). He played 39.8 minutes per game. Wall posted back-to-back point-assist double-doubles to open the week in wins over the Minnesota Timberwolves and Cleveland Cavaliers. He closed the week with back-to-back 30-plus point performances in a loss to the Toronto Raptors and a win over the New York Knicks.

Aldridge led the Trail Blazers to a 4-0 week behind averages of 22.5 points (tied-fourth in the conference), 10.5 rebounds and 1.75 blocks (10th in the conference). He played 37.7 minutes per game. Aldridge set season-highs in points (30), rebounds (21), and blocks (three) while tying a season high in steals (three) on Nov. 23 in a 113-101 win over the Golden State Warriors.

Nov. 19 vs. Minnesota: Tallied 14 points, 16 assists and five rebounds in a 104-100 win over the Timberwolves.

Nov. 22 @ Toronto: Posted 37 points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists during a 96-88 loss to the Raptors.

Nov. 23 vs. New York: Posted 31 points, seven assists, four rebounds and two steals during a 98-89 win over the Knicks.


LaMarcus Aldridge, Portland Trail Blazers 

Nov. 18 @ Brooklyn: Scored 27 points and added eight rebounds and two blocks in a 108-98 win over the Nets.

Nov. 20 @ Milwaukee: Tallied 21 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals during a 91-82 win over the Bucks.

Nov. 23 @ Golden State: Posted 30 points, 21 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and three steals in a 113-101 win over the Warriors.

Other nominees for the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Indiana’s Paul George, Memphis’ Zach Randolph, Miami’s LeBron James, Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant, Portland’s Wesley Matthews and Toronto’s DeMar DeRozan.
