UPDATE..

Here is my petition for having Clark County-Vancouver Wa Comcast to Carry CGR 1 Audio on a un used channel as background(like many other radio reading services in the US)for easy accessibility for those in nursing homes or such or may not use apps or the internet(older)persons, but to be heard in this non internet way to connect to the blind or visually impaired or seniors, CGR 1 and 2 is the only full-time service in our area..our area has not been served since 2008 when a RRS was on an non internet outlet or broadcaster using the SAP Channel or as a background for audio on any local cable outlet for easy access..THANKS ALL..

Hello folks, so much has happened since my last posting, American Senior Radio Network 1 and 2 was donated to a local Low Power FM in Camas(which I was an announcer)they ran it on the air and then it went off….I am not sure what and why..

I gave it to them when I was there and they took it over and I acted as Executive Director only….I left in August 2018…thinking of retirement…

So always in the back of my mind(to be honest)it may or may not go on….how I found out it went off the air..I got a email from a FM station in Richland Washington KFAE 89.1 non commercial was re broadcasting ASRN 1 on their 67Khz subcarrier channel(pre tuned closed circuit radios)tuned to 67Khz and those radios that can tune it in via KFAE to nursing homes in the tri cities area..

Well KFAE contacted me and told me there was no more ASRN….So filling the need to re start another service…I started CGR(Community Growth Radio)..

When ASRN was on KFAE(It was the only non internet or phone app)way to get it…MANY Radio Reading Services still use subcarrier(SCA)ways to have people tune in..and learning NOT all Seniors have devices or internet and make it more accessible..and many RRS is carried on Cable Access Channels(audio background)only..

CGR 1 and 2 are non commercial self supported Radio Reading Services that has programming mainly for only Blind,Visually Impaired, those who cannot read or hold printed material and disabled and or seniors, with local news, info, community programming)that is NOT heard locally by any LPFM in our Metro Area..It offers book-magazine-and newspaper readings by volunteers in their homes reading(recording)and sent to me. I do have permission from several newspapers to read in full and without edit and credit due to them always…

CGR 1 and 2 offers specific programming for the blind in several languages by native speakers,so if you are Russian or such and blind you can hear a volunteer read a paper or book in Russian, there are over a dozen languages offering programming for the blind if you do not speak English, I have a volunteer give English Lessons…plus Old Time Radio and Nostalgia.

CGR 1 and 2 was offered to a local non profit for the blind, but they rejected of having CGR Radio…I understand…

CGR 1 and 2 has educational and entertainment programming..I do own and operate CGR alone…I have no sponsors or ads running..

My intention was to retired from that station, I do apologize to all sincerely, I got so much into my work I was a different person and worked too much,it was a stressful time and I was really a different person and not my self…CGR is heard via the net, iblink serotek phone app, shoutcast, nobex phone app and others and now CGR is now carried by KFAE’s 89.1 sub carrier service…requiring a special loaned out FM Radio capable of getting the 67Khz pre tuned circuit channel..

CGR Radio is the ONLY Radio Reading Service in SW Wa and Oregon….and has programming offered that is not heard locally by any LPFM in our area…I do own the rights and name CGR 1 and 2 and I do have permission to use programs from other producers and RRS Services…and rights to broadcast shows(in block format)…CGR is on 7/24/365.aser

CGR will hopefully be carried via a cable access channel for easier access….I thank you all…Gerald..added Note: I am no longer associated with 102.7 or have been since august, they own the name and rights of ASRN Radio and content…and or website….I gave to them last year..
