The “Godfather of Northwest Weather” Dr. Cliff Mass To Talk In Portland

Spread the word! It’s official, the man affectionately known as the “Godfather of Pacific Northwest Weather,” Dr. Cliff Mass will speak to the Oregon Chapter of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) on Saturday, May 12th in Portland. The meeting is free, open to all ages of the general public and will begin at 10 AM in the main auditorium of the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI). Dr. Mass has put together an amazing presentation entitled, “The Future of Northwest Weather Prediction.” If you are a professional meteorologist or just someone who enjoys weather, you will absolutely NOT want to miss out on this GREAT presentation. Dr. Mass will give a detailed look at how computer weather models have revolutionized weather forecasting, including the University of Washington’s WRF-GFS and MM5-NAM. He will also detail new modeling enhancements that will be coming online in the not-so-distant future. A large audience is expected, please arrive early for best seating.
