Washington State’s football team has given Coug fans a gift by being relevant for the first time in years. A win Saturday or in the Apple Cup will make WSU bowl eligible for the first time since 2003.
The school is doubling down on its generosity, telling its students “thank you” for supporting the football team.

Students attending Saturday’s home finale vs. Utah can win prizes such as an iPad, Beats by Dre headphones and the chance to be an honorary captain at a game next season.
But the best prize is a personalized voicemail greeting by Mike Leach. You never know what the coach will say. He just might drop some knowledge about pirates or Geronimo.
