3A GREATER ST. HELENS LEAGUE

WHEN: 7:30 p.m. Friday

WHERE: McKenzie Stadium, 2205 NE 138th Ave., Vancouver

LAST WEEK: Hudson’s Bay lost to Prairie 23-21; Evergreen lost to Mountain View 55-14.

2017 MEETING: Evergreen 12, Hudson’s Bay 7

GAME NOTES: This game is a must-win for Hudson’s Bay to stay alive in the playoff hunt. If Evergreen wins, then next week’s game between Evergreen and Prairie will decide the third and final playoff berth from the 3A GSHL. However, if Bay wins, the Eagles could put themselves in position to claim the No. 2 seed to the playoffs by beating Kelso next week, provided the Hilanders lose to Mountain View. If Kelso wins, Bay could win out and still miss the playoffs, if Prairie also wins out. Toa Kaumatule was Bay’s biggest offensive weapon last week, rushing for 123 yards and one touchdown. He has 519 yards on the season. Carter Morse again filled in at quarterback. He struggled at times in the passing game, but ran for 44 yards and a TD that briefly gave Bay the lead in the fourth quarter. Evergreen will try to shake off a lopsided loss to Mountain View. Eli Vaa-Leiataua rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns. He has 830 rushing yard and 11 TDs on the season. QB Ryan Blaize passed for 186 yards last week.

FANS’ PICK: Evergreen (51 percent)
