GAME NOTES: Sehome decided not to play as part of the Northwest Conference 2A this season, opting instead for an independent schedule this season. Sehome saw its program numbers drop into the low 30s when it made the decision to step away from one of the toughest 2A leagues in the state for what it hopes is just one year. While Sehome remains on a 23-game losing streak, the Mariners have been more competitive this season. Sehome came close to snapping its skid in a 41-40 season-opening loss to 3A Mountlake Terrace. Freshman Jacob Kaepernick took over at QB last week for injured starter Michael Mindnich. Taj Muhammad had a 63-yard TD run for Seton Catholic last week. The Cougars have dropped back-to-back games by a combined score of 75-14.
