GAME NOTES: Washougal is 4-0 for the first time since 2011. But last week’s win over winless Mark Morris showed that there are no gimmes in the 2A GSHL. Washougal needed a defensive stop to keep the Monarchs from taking the lead in the fourth quarter. Then the Panthers got a fumble deep in Mark Morris territory in the final 70 seconds to set up Kade Coons’ 2-yard TD run. Coons rushed for 167 of Washougal’s 210 rushing yards last week. QB Ryan Stevens passed for 36 yards, but 24 came on a first-quarter TD pass to Jakob Davis. Jeremy Martin rushed for 99 yards last vs. Hockinson, including a 59-yard TD run. He also had six catches for 66 yards. QB Dawson Lieurance had a season-low 93 yards passing.
