LAST WEEK: Mountain View beat Ferris 32-13; Union beat Hermiston 36-27

GAME NOTES: Both teams went east to get season-opening wins last week. Now, they’re both back home, even though in this game Union is the home team. Mountain View sophomore Darien Chase helped open up a defensive struggle with Ferris. Chase had TD receptions of 45 and 28 yards and returned an interception 48 yards for another TD. He caught seven passes for 171 yards and had two interceptions. RB Junior Perry led the Thunder’s ground attack with 148 yards on 11 carries. Mountain View rushed for 322 yards. QB Andre Scheer passed for 203 yards. Union’s Lincoln Victor completed 9 of 12 passes for 106 yards and returned an interception 75 yards for a TD. Sophomore RB JoJo Siofele rushed for 72 yards and two TDs. Union led 36-7 in the fourth quarter before giving up three TDs to Hermiston. Hermiston’s comeback attempt ended with a fumble on the Union 2-yard line in the final minute.
