Five local runners to compete in Nike Borderclash under the lights

The 15th Nike Borderclash will be run under the lights on Saturday.

The annual matchup of the best high school cross country runners from Washington and Oregon will be held at the Nike World Headquarters Campus in Beaverton, Ore.

For the first time, the event will be run on a lighted, 4,387-meter course. The boys race begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the girls race at 6 p.m.

Runners are selected based on results from the respective state meets.

Representing Clark County on the Washington girls team is Camas’ Alexa Efraimson, Alissa Pudlitzke and Marley Lefore, Union’s Alexis Fuller and Prairie’s Nicole Goecke. No Clark County runner was selected to the boys race.
