Atwell earns state honor

Heritage gymnast Britni Atwell was selected the WIAA/Seattle Times state athlete of the week for Class 4A girls for her performance during Jan. 16-21.

Atwell, a junior, placed first in the vault (9.6), beam (9.55) and floor (9.55) and was second on bars (7.8) to win the all-around with a score of 36.5 in a team victory over Mountain View.

Atwell was The Columbian’s prep athlete of the week for Jan. 9-15 for her performance at the Winterfest meet.
