Week 5 football preview: Skyview vs. Lincoln

When, where: 7 p.m. Friday at Roosevelt HS, Portland (non-league game)

Last meeting: Skyview won 49-26 on Oct. 1, 2010 in Vancouver.

Last week: Skyview beat Camas 31-10; Lincoln beat David Douglas 20-19.

Skyview (2-2): Skyview is 2-0 against teams from Washington, 0-2 against teams from other states. … However, Lincoln is not a defending state champion, unlike Skyview’s other two out-of-state opponents. … After missing the Heritage game because of injury, QB Kieran McDonagh came back to complete 15 of 21 passes for 247 yards against Camas. He also rushed for 58 yards. … RB Parker Henry is hitting his stride. He leads the area in rushing with 617 yards and 7 TDs.

Lincoln (3-1): Lincoln brings a strong passing attack with it. The Cardinals have two QBs. Koleman Vance has passed for 801 yards and Johnny Williams has passed for 452. … Lincoln has four receivers with more than 10 catches this season, led by Spencer Rotenberg’s 26 catches for 431 yards and 2 TDs.

Bottom line: Lincoln has moved the ball and picked up yards, but struggled to turn those yards into points at times. The Cardinals will need to do that against the reinvigorated Storm.

Columbian’s pick: Skyview.

Fans’ pick: Skyview.
