Basketball players on the move

In what seemingly is becoming an annual tradition, several basketball players who were major contributors at one program last season are enrolled at other schools this school year.

Jordan Chatman, who was selected to The Columbian’s All-Region team at Skyview as a sophomore, is now a Union High School student by residency. Chatman was the lone sophomore — and only non-senior — to make the first team, all-GSHL team, as voted on by the coaches.

Emily Rowe, a starting post for the Prairie girls basketball team that went to state again last season, has left the program. Rowe, who made honorable mention all-league as a freshman last season, has reportedly enrolled at St. Mary’s in Portland.

At least two players from the Skyview girls program that won the 4A Greater St. Helens League title the past two years are in new schools.

Nikki Bond, an All-Region player as a freshman who missed much of her sophomore season to a knee injury, is enrolled at Battle Ground. And Tori Conley, a key to Skyview’s rotation last season, is now enrolled at Evergreen.
