State’s best track times, marks

Athletic.net, one of our favorite Web sites, lists the top times and marks in the state of Washington for track and field.

As of Thursday night, three Clark County athletes were on top of their events. And another Southwest Washington athlete could be taking over the top spot in another event once the list is updated.

Stevenson pole vaulter Austin McCrum cleared the bar at 15 feet in a meet Thursday. He was second in the state prior to that mark. His 15-0 will put him ahead of Marcus Schooley of A.C. Davis (Yakima), who had a 14-7. (Presuming Schooley did not clear 15-0 or better this week.)

Jon Lawson of Prairie, meanwhile, is tops in all classifications in the shot put at 60 feet.

Kinsley Ojukwu of Union has the best mark in the triple jump at 46-9.

And Megan Kelley of Camas, who set a school record earlier this week in the long jump, is tops in the state at 18-1.
