Fister Should Sue Mariners For Non-Support

Here’s an interesting post at baseball-reference.com about just how little support the Mariners’ Doug Fister has received.

For example, Fister’s park-adjusted ERA is now 11 percent better than the league average, but his record is 3-12. According to the post, 15 pitchers in history have had a winning percentage of .250 or worse but a better-than-average ERA.

Even more amazing: Fister’s career record is now 12-30, but his ERA is better than average.

For a cause-and-effect column, here’s what I wrote Sunday about the Mariners’ offense.
