Walk & Knock Coming December 1

Ridgefield participates in the Walk & Knock Food Drive, which is the largest single-day community food drive west of the Mississippi. This year it will take place on Saturday, December 1, beginning at 9 a.m. Local youth organizations and other groups will walk through our neighborhoods, collecting canned goods. Brown paper bags will be inserted in the daily newspapers to hold the cans.

On the first Saturday of every December, Walk & Knock volunteers go door to door collecting thousands of pounds of food. Walk & Knock was started by local residents Bud Pasmore and Doug Rae over 25 years ago and has grown to be Clark County’s largest food drive. Since 1985, the food drive has collected more than 6 million pounds of non-perishable foods worth nearly $8 million dollars. For more information, visit www.walkandknock.org
