I Love Lucy is, arguably, the classic vision of grape stomping but my personal favorite is definitely Keanu Reeves and Aitana Sánchez-Gijón in the slightly cheesy 1995 A Walk in the Clouds. With breathtaking Napa Valley in the background, ladies stomp around this huge vat with their dresses hiked up to here and gone until a group of men put Reaves in with his new bride and…cue the cheesy music.

Grape stomping festivals continue to invoke the romance of the industry. Contestants clad in Lucy-esque fashion delight onlookers at Rusty Grape Vineyards, which hosts their 10th Annual Stompfest on September 17th. Heather Brown

If you’ve always wanted to release your inner Lucy or Paul, come join the 10th Annual Stompfest held at Rusty Grape Vineyards on Saturday, September 17 from noon-7 p.m.

Organize a team (costumes encouraged) or simply be an active bystander, cheering on the stompers as they compete to crush the competition.

A corn hole tournament from 2-5 p.m., all-day raffle prizes, live music and house-made Sangria will also be on hand and the newest Rusty addition—their Backyard BBQ —is set to crank out pulled pork and brisket sandwiches from 1-8 p.m.

For more information or to purchase tickets for the limited amount of Stompfest team tickets remaining, go to www.eventbrite.com.

I am a Clark County native. I am Level 2 WSET (wine and spirit education trust)-certified and enjoy pairing wine with my passion for travel and fondness of food. My most prized possessions are the memories of places I've been with my husband, the chance encounters we've been blessed to have along the way and my carry-on bag. I can often be seen around town and in tasting rooms with our two beautiful, double-Merle Australian shepherds, Challenge and Baby Girl.
