Save the date because you won’t want to miss a full day of local live music culminating at 6 pm when Grammy award-winning artist, Doug Smith, takes center stage accompanied by his wife, Judy Smith, at the 7th Annual Heisen Barn Bash on Saturday, June 25.

Hosted by Battle Ground’s own Heisen House Vineyards, the Barn Bash celebrates the historic Heisen Barn and ongoing fundraising efforts to preserve the structure for generations to come. Built between 1866 and 1890, this local landmark is listed on the State and National Historic Registers as well as the Washington State Historic Barn Registry.

Over the years owner Michele Bloomquist has been able to complete preservation projects such as replacing failing beams and residing the building but more is needed including a new roof to ensure the safety and integrity of the structure.

Included in the days’ activities will be historic displays, tours of the homestead, food, music, games, local products and goods for sale from area crafters, artists, and farmers. It all begins at 12 pm with music running every hour until 9 pm, when Doug Smith finishes his three hour set of acoustic guitar accompanied by the melodic vocals of his wife, Judy.

Of course there’s also wine tasting, wines by the glass and bottle available for purchase to guests 21 and over.

Admission is free with a suggested donation of $5 per adult and $3 per child between the ages of 5-18. Donations will go toward the continuing barn preservation effort. Rain or shine. All ages welcome.
