Longview’s Mirth Provisions ended up with another carbonation glitch after the company’s first delivery to Main Street Marijuana and New Vansterdam on Sunday and Monday.

The cannabis-infused pomegranate sodas were, once again, popping their caps.

The problem also caused delays several weeks ago when owner Adam Stites discovered the company had received the wrong bottles from its distributor.

Stites said he’s in the lab today trying to figure out what’s wrong.

He has also recalled all shipments to stores, he said.

“On Monday we had reports of over pressurized bottles, I immediately asked both retailers to remove from shelves while we ran pressure tests on the controls from the same batch,” Stites said in an email. “We saw over pressurization and asked the retailers to put in quarantine, I then personally removed the product from the stores and it is in our Longview facility. We are now working with the our 502 lab and a state food science lab to isolate.”

While problems like this are a nuisance, they can also provide good information for the next array of businesses that crop up and legalization continues. I-502 has created a learning process for pretty much everyone in the recreational industry.

Stites said he won’t ship again until he’s positive all the bugs are worked out. He also said he’ll let us know when he finds out what’s been causing the problems.
