Store and stock list for Sept. 12 weekend

Been a while since I did a consumer post so I thought I’d list a little info about the strains available in Vancouver right now.

Main Street Marijuana and New Vansterdam expect to be open all weekend, and both are expecting new stock over the next few days.

You can check their sites for updated menu info here:

New Vansterdam: http://newvansterdam.com/menu/menu-summary/
Main Street Marijuana: http://www.mainstmj.com/

Main Street Marijuana has Montana Silver Tip (Indica) and Schrom (70% Sativa) from Buddy Boy Farms and Burmese Kush (Half Indica / Half Sativa) and Tangy Kush (Sativa Dominant Hybrid) from CannaSol Farms. Everything is $35 a gram right now, although you get a free pipe with your purchase.

New Vansterdam got shipments of several strains from Monkey Grass Farms and two strains (Love Potion and Godzilla) from CannaMan Farms on Thursday. Prices vary (but are about $33 a gram). Check their site menu for more info.

Here’s a bit more on the strains at Main Street Marijuana:

Montana Silver Tip – I couldn’t find anything specific for the “Montana” part of this, but there’s a strain review for Silvertip on the Weed Blog, which says: “This Silvertip strain is definitely a winner if you’re seeking creativity, focus, and energy without a manic buzzy feeling. It’s a perfect wake-and-bake strain and for people working in intellectual fields.” Check out the full review here: http://www.theweedblog.com/marijuana-strain-review-silvertip-by-brightside-pdx/

Schrom (Main Street Marijuana sold out of this but they may get it back in the future) – Leafly says this strain is a good daytime high: “During the day, Schrom relaxes the body without slowing the mind and leaves you alert enough to focus on the day’s tasks. However, enjoying this strain late in the evening may be all it takes to fall into a good night’s sleep.” Here’s more from their site on it: http://www.leafly.com/sativa/schrom

Burmese Kush – Leafly says this strain is a bit of a creeper, coming on slowly: “This hybrid strain is almost half sativa and tends to give users a calm, mellow outlook. Bred by TH Seeds as a cross that includes the California classic, OG Kush, this plant will be dark green and have a piney aroma with a sweet aftertaste.” Here’s more from their site on it: http://www.leafly.com/hybrid/burmese-kush

Tangy Kush – MMJMenu says this strain is a good daytime pain med: “This cross between Sour Diesel and OG Kush is a winning combination. For those looking for daytime pain medication, Sour Kush might be one of the best choices out there. Providing users with an uplifting experience without overwhelming sedative effects, this hybrid is great for day-to-day use.” Here’s more from that site about it: https://mmjmenu.com/dispensaries/6180/menus/6180/menu_items/337123

Here’s a bit more on the strains at New Vansterdam:

Rainbow – Leafly says this strain is euphoric and uplifting: “Indica-dominant strain with a THC range of 17-22% and CBD of 0.49%. Tastes similar to tropical Starburst with small dense purple, orange and green colored buds.” The site doesn’t have much detail about it but here’s the listing: http://www.leafly.com/hybrid/rainbow

White Elephant – Medical Marijuana Strains says this strain has “Instant cerebral effects, heavy eyes. Really good head buzz, very focused, talkative. Increase in hunger level.” Here’s more on that site: http://www.medicalmarijuanastrains.com/elephant/

Blueberry Grape Ape – Leafly has this to say about Grape Ape (nothing specific for the blueberry part) “Grape Ape has a sweet smell and very strong grape taste. Delivers a nice just-right indica punch, not a complete knock out. A favorite for pain relief and other medicinal uses.” Here’s more: http://www.leafly.com/indica/grape-ape

Night Train – Medical Marijuana Strains says this variety creates a “low eyes, couch lock, tired” feel that’s good for “insomnia, stress, pain relief.” Here’s more: http://www.medicalmarijuanastrains.com/night-train-2/

Pineapple Kush – Leafly said this is a good happy, relaxing strain. “While the breeder of this strain is unknown, its parents are Pineapple and Master Kush. The buds are brown/green in color and covered with amber crystals. With a THC content of up to 15% and CBD of 0.14%, the buzz is commonly described as cerebral, with a light body sensation.” Here’s more: http://www.leafly.com/hybrid/pineapple-kush

Afgooey – The Weed Blog has this to say about Afgooey: “The Afgooey marijuana strain is great for seizures, pain, PTSD, stress, depression, headaches, sleep assistance, and nausea. The Afgooy marijuana strain has a very earthy smell with a hint of pine. It’s not uncommon for the Afgooey scent to fill up a room, as it’s very pungent.” Here’s more: http://www.theweedblog.com/afgooey-marijuana-strain-review-and-pictures/

Godzilla (CannaMan Farms) – Here’s what Leafly has to say about Godzilla: “Crushing euphoria and sedation are delivered alongside a sour berry flavor accented with subtle notes of vanilla. Thoughts wander away, taking with them stress, anxiety, and depression. After some time, Godzilla’s effects subside to clearheaded, functional bliss. Patients treating pain and muscle spasms may find relief in Godzilla’s potent and tranquilizing onset.” Here’s more from their site on it: http://www.leafly.com/indica/godzilla

Love Potion (CannaMan Farms) – Alex Redbud recently tried Love Potion from CannaMan Farms. Here’s her comments on it: “Really good. Probably the best Sativa I’ve tried from the rec market. Their Cinex previously held that spot. Strawberry Cough is right up there as well (fruity strains are my favorite). Love Potion had an interesting smell. At first it had a sweet scent, kind of like a flower. But if you break up up and leave it in a jar for a while, it has a really strong spicy smell to it. Very odd.”

Have you tried any of the new strains? Let us know what you thought!
