AUGUST 24: Bader Beer and Wine will hold a “Beginning Brewing Class” at its store at 711 Grand Blvd. The entry-level class, held from 1-4 p.m. is designed to show the first time brewer the beer making process. AUGUST 24: Shorty’s Garden and Home, 10006 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd., will host the “Shorty’s Brewfest and Brewing Demonstration” mini-festival on its patio on Aug. 24, with live music from 2-5 p.m. The event is part of the company’s summer series. Loowit, Mt. Tabor, Mill City and Heathen brewing are all on the event list, as is a brewing equipment demo by Bader Beer and Wine.

August 25: Mashfest is a private home-brewing competition put together by Bader Beer and Wine Supply. It will be held from 4-8 p.m. at Mint Tea. Check the company’s website for details.

SEPTEMBER 20: Shorty’s Garden and Home will host its 10th Oktoberfest. The indoor event, held Friday from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m., features bands and German beers and typically draws a crowd of 800-900 people. Organizers hope to add German beer styles from Clark County brewers to this year’s festivities.

JULY 25: Total Wine and More will hold a “Lagers and Ales beyond Pilsners and Pales: Big, Bold, Bodacious Beers” class from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at its Vancouver store at 4816 N.E. Thurston Way. Ages 21 and over. Cost is $15.

JULY 16: Utah’s EPIC Brewing will visit Taps N’ Caps in Camas at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. The company plans to bring 3 brews on tap and a variety of others to taste via bottle. Its representative from Salt Lake City, UT will also be giving out some EPIC swag. You can sign up for the Taps N’ Caps Event or just show up.

June 7-8: Who’s Your Daddy Brewfest (in association with By The Bottle), Turtle Place Park.

June 14-16: Vancouver Summer Brewfest (in association with the Vancouver Marathon), Esther Short Park.

July 13: Drink This – in downtown Vancouver from 4-9 p.m. will feature Loowit Brewing Company, Mt Tabor Brewing and By the Bottle, along with several other drink vendors.
