ESPN's rankings out — Blazers not crowding top of the list

For weeks, ESPN filled the lockout void by teasing us with rankings of every player in the NBA. Tuesday, the top five players were finally revealed.

The list?

  1. LeBron James
  2. Dwight Howard
  3. Dwyane Wade
  4. Chris Paul
  5. Dirk Nowitzki

Kevin Durant came it at No. 6 while Kobe Bryant finished seventh.

The highest-ranked Trail Blazer? LaMarcus Aldridge…at 23.

Remember, Aldridge made the third-team All NBA this year, which in a sense placed him in the top 15 players in the league. But this is somewhat misleading given how the All-League teams are determined more by position than overall talent. Anyway, here is a complete list of the Blazers.

Who was too high? Who was too low? Was Chris Johnson snubbed at 461 when he clearly looked like a top 455 player in the playoffs?

That, my friends, is for you to decide.
