Prop. 1 up in flames?

In any newsroom, a lot of planning goes into election night. What issues or races are most important? Which interviews are lined up once results start coming in? What will the next day’s lead photo be? Those questions, of course, depend on the outcomes.

We know C-Tran’s Proposition 1 will be one of the most closely watched on Nov. 6, with implications for light rail and the Columbia River Crossing. Fortunately, we already have the perfect photo ready to run if the sales tax measure fails:

Okay, maybe that’s a tad dramatic.

It’s actually a Columbian file photo, taken during a local disaster drill in 2007. But there are only so many chances we’ll get to use that shot again, right?
